I was sitting in a hospital waiting room today for 7 hours. 7 hours of waiting for what we all thought was going to be an easy procedure on my dad. Go in, clear out the infection, staple him up, antibiotics for the bacteria in his stomach, and then to ICU.
7 hours of waiting for what? For some prick ass Dr. to come in and tell us all the shittiest news in the shittiest way.
My dad has cancer.
Correction--My dad has had cancer for AT LEAST a year...possibly for more.
My dad has a rare type of colon cancer...NEWSFLASH...colon cancer = the 2nd worst type of cancer there is. Kills quickly and painfully.
They removed a HUGE tumor, that we never knew was there, from my dad's colon.
The cancer was so advanced, it had attached and spread too his colon, intestines, gallbladder, bladder, and stomach.
They removed as much as they could, but told us that it was one of the worst, and most difficult cases they had ever seen or worked on.
The prognosis is BAD...very POOR and after a week or two, we may get a timeline.
He is in the High Level Care for 7- 10 days and then, after 6 weeks, he starts both chemo and radiation...because they were not able to remove ALL of the cancer.
Now, my dad has a colonoscopy since he can't use the restroom, can't eat or drink for at least a week, and then is on a liquid diet for a while.
And we just thought it was a stomach bug.
Fooled me.
God hates me...I know it.
